Kingslea Broadmeadows and the Northern Blues Football Club visit local schools

Kingslea Broadmeadows and the Northern Blues Football Club have teamed up for a special visit to Broadmeadows Primary School.

Carlton AFL-listed rookies Matthew Owies and Matthew Cottrell and AFLW youngsters Abbie McKay and Emerson Woods hosted a football clinic for the grade three and four students, helping the group build their skills in goal kicking, handballing and mark-taking.

There were plenty of smiles on the day, as the students enjoyed a full day of fun before being able to ask the players questions, snap a photo and grab an autograph.

Kingslea is the brand-new residential community being built on the old Hard Yakka site, directly across the road from the Broadmeadows Primary School.

Upon completion, Kingslea will be home to around 250 new residents who have taken advantage of townhouse and apartment living options. New residents will also have access to an exciting new retail shopping precinct, planned for the Blair Street frontage.

Kingslea’s Sales Director Vanessa Lawless was thrilled to help organise the Northern Blues’ visit to the school, believing it perfectly showcased how the partnership between Kingslea and the Northern Blues could help the local community.

“We are so excited to be the major sponsor of the Northern Blues Football Club this year,” Lawless said.

“Creating a connection to the primary school where the kids can meet the players and enjoy the footy clinic has been great.

“We’re not just building townhouses and apartments at Kingslea, but we’re building a community in Broadmeadows and part of that community is encouraging kids into sports like football.

“The Northern Blues community has really embraced Kingslea and we look forward to continuing our support.”

Broadmeadows is set to become a highly sought-after location for new home buyers, with much to offer.

Located at the gateway to Melbourne’s northern corridor, Broadmeadows is only 17 kilometres and a 30-minute train ride from Melbourne’s CBD, eight kilometres from the Melbourne International Airport and Essendon Airport and also adjacent to the M80 freeway and regional rail networks.

Residents of Kingslea will also be able to enjoy the many local retail offerings, including Broadmeadows Central Shopping Centre, cafes, restaurants, movies, parks and more. The planned Blair Street Central will also add even more retail offerings to meet daily needs.

Kingslea will meet the educational needs of its residents.  Broadmeadows Primary School and Hume Secondary College are both within a stone’s throw, and Melbourne Polytechnic and the Kangan Institute are both nearby. Living at Kingslea also offers easy access to Melbourne University, RMIT and La Trobe University in Bundoora.

The perfect match: Northern Blues partner with Young Henrys

The partnership began at the beginning of the 2019 season, with Young Henrys continuing to emerge on the scene as an independent Australian beer company.

Both Yong Henrys and the Northern Blues Football Club view this as a long-term partnership that will continue to grow in the future.

“It’s very early stages, which is both exciting and challenging,” Young Henrys’ Head of Partnerships and Major Projects Greg Hall said.

“We prefer long-term partnerships in everything we do, and we see this as no exception.

“We see the Northern Blues as a great local club with solid history and heritage, in a place which has become south-of-the-border heartland for Young Henrys.”

With the importance of community being an integral value for the Northern Blues, this partnership with Young Henrys was a match made in heaven for all parties.

Young Henrys prides itself with promoting inclusiveness and respecting the people in the community.

“A successful club is usually a happy club, full of happy people, which are better to do business with,” he said.

“We always try and deal with like-minded, fun and happy people who are keen to do cool things together.”

The most exciting aspect of the partnership is the benefit involved for Northern Blues members.

The partnership gives members the exclusive opportunity of discounted offers on the beer products that Young Henrys has to offer including the Natural Lager (an unfiltered premium lager), the mid-strength Newtowner Aussie Pale Ale as well as the perfectly-balanced Cloudly Cider. Those in attendance at selected Northern Blues home games could also receive free pint vouchers.
