James Corboy will play his first VFL game for the Northern Blues this weekend as 23rd man.
In his second year as a Blue, Corboy makes his long-awaited senior debut in a crunch top-four clash against Sandringham on Saturday.
The youngster played a vital role in the Development side’s win against Casey, kicking three second-half goals in a narrow win.
Since playing his first Development game in the second game last season, Corboy has played the last 19 games uninterrupted.
He has been an ever-present on the scoresheet, contributing 17 goals in that time while also a constant source of forward pressure (#1 for tackles at Development level in 2016).
In making his debut this weekend, Corboy becomes the 15th player to pull on the Northern Blues guernsey in the VFL for the first time this year.
He follows on from teammates Kane Keppel and Marcus Stavrou, who have both impressed in their stints as 23rd man to date.
Saturday’s game against the Zebras will be played at Preston City Oval, with the senior match commencing at 2pm.
