Fraser Pearce will make his Northern Blues VFL debut today.

Pearce has been rewarded for his consistent Development form in recent weeks, where he has averaged just shy of 20 disposals a game in the last six weeks.

A midfielder who can play a role either inside or outside, Pearce came to the club from Port Melbourne where he made his senior debut in the final game of 2016 as 23rd man.

He was one of Northern’s best contributors last weekend when he collected 26 disposals in the win over his former side Port at Development level.

Pearce is one of a number of Blues who will front up against Essendon today that has been rewarded for strong Development performances in recent weeks.

Tim Jones, Kane Keppel and Dyson Stevens have all been named in the final Bertocchi 23, as has Mason Blakey for his second VFL game as 23rd man (and his first of the season).

They are joined by Harrison Macreadie and Ciaran Sheehan as the inclusions for today’s game, which will be broadcast live on Channel 7 from 2:10pm.
