A challenging trip to Casey Fields is in store for the Northern Blues tomorrow.
The Blues go to the home of the Demons with the chance to keep their season well and truly alive with three games to go in the home-and-away year.
After recording a victory over Casey for the first time in five years earlier this season, the Blues will have to repeat the dosage tomorrow afternoon.
Following the disappointment of the final quarter fade-out against the Dogs last week, a response is needed for a Northern team which has been heavily rotated in recent weeks.
Of the team which beat Casey in Round 5, 12 players remain from the game which saw the Blues triumph by 55 points.
David Cuningham and Ciaran Sheehan are among that dozen, with the duo being named in the extended squad after missing all action last weekend at both AFL and VFL level.
With key talls Matthew Harman and Kane Keppel both out through injury, the smaller brigade for the Blues will be tasked with kicking a winning score on the weekend.
Andrew Gallucci, Kym Lebois and Liam Sumner all hit the scoreboard last weekend, and will have to contribute once again against a Demons defence which has stood up well.
Coming into this game off three straight wins, Casey has held their opponents to just 60 points a game since their bye in Round 13.
Youngster Bailey Fritsch has been their danger man in attack with 28 goals from 14 games, while they have a number of Melbourne-listed players ready to step up to the plate.
Saturday’s senior game kicks off at 2pm, not the previously scheduled 7pm following a fixture change. The Development match will precede it at 11am.
Supporters can tune in to Casey Radio for coverage of the game.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Mason Blakey: The first-year Blue has improved by the week since shaking injury to force his way into the senior team a month ago. Blakey stood up in defence last weekend, and with a largely settled back six to take to Casey Fields tomorrow, the youngster will be looking to continue his good run alongside the likes of the returning Sheehan and the in-form Cameron O’Shea.
Dylan Buckley: Buckley was a much-welcomed inclusion into the fold last week against Footscray, with his dash and drive a vital asset on both the half-back line and wing. Similar output to his 20 disposals and five inside 50s against the Dogs will be a valuable asset in tomorrow’s clash with the Demons.
Kym Lebois: Senior coach Josh Fraser credited the speedster with his performances in the last fortnight, and challenged him to continue with his progression to close out the VFL season. With a couple of classy assists as well as a goal last weekend, Lebois’ class around the ball will be needed in typically difficult conditions at Casey Fields against the team he made his VFL debut against in Round 5.
