The Northern Blues Development team will play their last game tomorrow.
With Williamstown’s win over Coburg on Saturday, it means the Blues are officially out of finals contention.
Tomorrow morning’s clash against Box Hill from 11am will be the final game for the Development Blues, after the decision earlier in the year that the League will not go ahead in 2018.
Coached by Ian Aitken, Northern will be desperate to go off on the right note with a win over the finals-bound Hawks.
The Development side has been a successful system for the Blues in previous years and in 2017, with 20 players starting out in the reserves/Development leagues before progressing onto the senior side.
There was better news for the VFL side, with Port Melbourne defeating Collingwood by five points in a thriller. A win tomorrow against the third-placed Hawks would place the Blues inside the top eight.
