Dyson Stevens will undergo a shoulder rehabilitation program but has avoided surgery after an injury sustained in the final game of the season.
Stevens didn’t return after quarter-time in the Round 19 loss to Box Hill, following a strain to his rotator cuff.
Northern Blues High Performance Manager Steven Tiricola said that scans confirmed he wouldn’t require surgery heading into pre-season.
It was welcome news for Stevens, who continued his progression through the Northern Blues ranks in 2017 on his way to nine senior games and a spot in the leadership group.
The news on the injury front is also positive for Dan Costanzo.
Having made his return from a hamstring strain in the final Development game, Costanzo hobbled off late after injuring his ankle in the win over the Hawks.
The young defender’s scans confirmed that he was cleared of any fracture.
