The numbers have confirmed just how good the debut Northern Blues season of Cameron O’Shea was.
At the completion of the home-and-away season, O’Shea looks to be one of the favourites heading into the club’s Laurie Hill Trophy.
In his first year since coming across from Port Adelaide, O’Shea has been a wall for the Blues in defence, with his stats backing it up.
Across the whole VFL competition, O’Shea was ranked first in the league for marks with 119.

He also came in third behind Port Melbourne’s Eli Templeton and Damien Mascitti for kicks with 272, while he placed second for rebound 50s with 83 (one behind Coburg’s Josh Iacobaccio).
His teammates Tom Wilson and Luke Russell also featured among the competition’s best.
Both O’Shea and Wilson featured in the top disposal getters across the league (14th and 18th respectively), while Wilson also ranked fifth in kicks and 16th in inside 50s.
The skipper’s midfield partner in Russell was a bull in the middle for the Blues this year: he ranked in the top 15 for handballs and contested possessions while he was sixth in the VFL for total clearances (97).
