The Northern Blues have landed a significant coup, signing Josh Hill for the 2018 season.

The 28-year-old comes to the Blues with 173 games and over 10 years of experience in the AFL system.

With time at both the Western Bulldogs and most recently at West Coast, Hill’s goal-kicking prowess and big-game experience will be vital for a developing Northern outfit.

Over his 11-season career, Hill kicked 226 goals, while also featuring in the Eagles’ side for the 2015 Grand Final.

He averaged over a goal a game in seven years in the AFL, including a career-best 40 goals when West Coast finished runners-up.

Hill was also the recipient of the Ross Glendinning Medal for his best afield performance in the second derby against Fremantle two seasons ago.

He will provide extremely valuable leadership for the Blues’ young group, and is a welcomed addition to Northern’s squad heading into the Christmas break. Hill will link up with his teammates in the new year.

Hill joins former Port Adelaide rookie Jesse Palmer and Northern Knights graduates Alex Federico and Ethan Penrith as the club’s newest signings.

Stay tuned to the club’s website for the latest updates over the off-season.
