The Northern Blues will welcome back two key defenders in this afternoon’s match with Box Hill.
Alex Silvagni and Kane Keppel return to action against the Hawks after lengthy layoffs from injury.
It’ll be Silvagni’s first game since July last year following a knee injury, while Keppel plays for the first time since August after a fractured fibula.
They’ll be joined by Carl Adams and Deven Costigan, who are the remaining inclusions to the Northern Blues’ squad for the clash with the Hawks.
Coming out of the side from last week’s mid-week game is Cameron O’Shea (AFL selection), Nick Graham (knee soreness) and Jason Williams (unavailable).
It’s once again a youthful mix for the Blues, with 21 of the players named in the 26-man squad under the age of 22.
A dozen Carlton players have been named, with Sam Kerridge named as captain.
Their experience will be important in the young side, along with ruckman Matthew Lobbe and Northern’s Glenn Strachan.
From a Northern outlook, the likes of Alex Federico, Jordan Johnston and Ethan Penrith will be hoping to build on the impressive signs which they showed last week.
This match will be the Blues’ second practice match of pre-season, with the next to come against Richmond at Punt Road prior to the AFL season opener.
