Josh Hill and Tom Wilson have re-signed with the Northern Blues for 2019.

The Northern Blues have continued their exciting off-season with the re-signings of Josh Hill and Tom Wilson.

The experienced duo have recommitted to the Blues for next season in a significant boost for Northern’s 2019 aspirations.

The pairing both enjoyed strong years in the previous VFL season, with both finishing on the podium in the Laurie Hill Trophy.

Wilson returns for a ninth season at Preston City Oval, where he is already one of the Club’s greats.

The captain added a third best and fairest award to his Northern Blues trophy cabinet which also included life membership and more than a century of games.

He is joined in the experience stakes by Hill, who arrived at the Club 12 months ago after 173 games in the AFL with the Western Bulldogs and West Coast.

Starring in a new role across half-back, Hill enjoyed a stellar end to the season and stormed home for a third-placed finish in the best and fairest.

With the two senior players locked away, General Manager Ben Brennan said the Club was delighted that the pair would represent the Northern Blues once again.

“It’s a great result for the Club that Tom and Josh will once again pull on our jumper in 2019,” Brennan said.

“With some key young talent coming through, the two of them will provide great experience and leadership once again. We saw this year that their contributions on the field will be just as important.

“Tom doesn’t need any introduction at this club, what he has offered as a player and as captain is pretty remarkable. Along with Josh’s experience at AFL level and the form he showed this year, we’re delighted both are on board once again.”

The pair of re-signings sees Hill and Wilson add to a raft of off-season commitments for the VFL Blues. They become the 11th and 12th players confirmed to feature for Northern in 2019.
