AS many as 14 Carlton-listed players could feature for the Northern Blues at Ikon Park on Saturday.
A bevy of Blues have been named to feature in Northern’s return to action, having had the bye last weekend.
Rookie Kym Lebois has been named for his first game for the year, in a very extended squad of 31.
Including all eight members of Carlton’s extended interchange, the squad will be trimmed down in line with Carlton’s team announcement tomorrow at 5pm.
Angus Schumacher, who was the holdover emergency against North Melbourne, is also named to feature, while Lochie O’Brien and Andrew Phillips are important additions to the fold.
Northern has lost Frank Anderson through suspension for two weeks, while captain Tom Wilson will be sidelined for the year after rupturing his ACL a fortnight ago.
In his absence, the likes of Matthew Kennedy and Sam Fisher will have a big role to play.
Emerging VFL-listed leader Marcus Stavrou has been named for his first game of the year after outstanding form for Old Xaverians in the VAFA.
Initially scheduled for Preston City Oval, the game has been moved to Ikon Park. The game will also be live-streamed on Carlton’s Youtube channel from 2pm.
