THE YOUNG talented trio of Kye Quirk, Noah Wheeler and Oscar White have committed to Northern Blues for the 2020 season.
The emerging youngsters played 17 games between them in 2019, each showing impressive signs in their debut seasons at Preston City Oval.
Having made a positive impact and showcasing their development throughout pre-season, their re-signings at Northern is a big boost for Northern’s future.
Quirk and White both add depth and speed to the backline, while Wheeler is a reliable goal-kicker who mainly features across half-forward.
The latter showed his potential back in Round 5 of last season, kicking three goals – including two in the last quarter – in a win over North Melbourne.

Quirk had a standout game in Round 20 against Box Hill, where he managed 24 disposals in difficult conditions which saw him poll votes in the Laurie Hill Trophy. Kye is the grandson of Carlton premiership player, Bryan.
White got a taste of VFL football last season, enjoying a winning debut against North Melbourne where he collected 16 disposals and six marks.
General Manager Ben Brennan is excited about the future for the young trio.
“The boys have shown tremendous growth within the program and the way they’ve attacked pre-season this summer has been impressive,” Brennan said.
“They are exciting prospects for the Club both on and off the field and have shown that they’re really invested in the direction our club is heading.
“We’ve added some key AFL experience to our list so far but to retain some really promising young talent is a fantastic result for us.”
