Season 2012

The Northern Blues have completed the transition from the Northern Bullants and now proudly boasts an even closer relationship with Carlton Football Club. The famous 'CFC' logo and the word 'Northern' are now displayed prominently to reflect this partnership.

Adding to this, we have secured the coaching services of well-known VFL footballer and premiership coach Robert Hyde. He takes over from Darren Harris, who has moved into a permanent role with Carlton.

Robert and his team of assistants will be at the forefront of maintaining a quality team on and off the ground.

Continuing with the club are key coaching staff in Adrian McBean, Robbie Maiorana and Mark Muscat who have all been pivotal to our Club's improved performance. Joining our coaching team are Gavin Langborne, Criag Hayes and Michael Hazell.

While changes have occurred, the oustanding support of Carlton Football Club, sponsors, volunteers, and most importantly, you as a member or supporter, continues.

In 2012, the Northern Blues will carry on its role of developing footballers within the Senior and Development/Reserves Team, as well as working with local football clubs to provide an opportunity for rising stars. We have a lot of young footballers who have trained hard over the pre-season and we are confident they will make an impact during the year.

In other player news, our former Captain Adam Iacobucci retired from VFL-level football, as did Vice Captain Jarrod McCorkell. We thank them and other departing players for their services to the club.

Our club remains dedicated to improving not only its stature as a premier VFL club, but also its ongoing drive to continue community involvement and promote a healthy lifestyle among footballers of all ages.

We are also pleased to announce that the Northern Blues have secured a major sponsor in GRUNT.

We welcome the ongoing sponsorship support from businesses including Bendigo Bank, Preston Market, Preston Central, Rydges Hotel - Bell City, Cramers, Urbanedge Homes, AA Turner Builders, Advanced Stone, Barry Plant Reservoir, Broadway Bingo, Preston Locksmiths, Sportsmart, EmbroidMe Brunswick, The Melbourne Times Weekly, Zonta Group, Clark Toop & Taylor and Maurice J Kerrigan & Associates.

Our strong association continues with the Northern Knights Football Club, Preston Cricket Club, Preston Bullants Junior Football Club, Northern Football League, City of Darebin, AFL Victoria and Victorian Womens Football League. We thank them for their support.

We hope you enjoy watching, talking about and being involved with our club - THE NORTHERN BLUES!
